Asus R600 GPS

Asus R600

For years, I insisted on Asus motherboards when building new computers.  Asus boards were always reliable, feature rich, and stable.  They were also on the pricey side, but I justified that with the knowledge that Asus seemed dedicated to producing the best computer-specific items possible.  I have yet to have an Asus board fail on me despite the abuse I shell out.

Asus has been on quite the product-diversification run, having entered industries not directly related to their computer motherboard background.  One of the latest products I’ve seen get press is their R600 GPS unit.  It’s a GPS running Windows CE, offering a large display, 4gb SD access, Bluetooth connectivity, all with a projected 6 hour battery.

I honestly haven’t built a a computer in 3-4 years, but I’m not sure that ASUS would be my first choice after seeing how they have spread out their products.  Certain companies, like Panasonic, do that well but most others dilute their quality in the pursuit of a buck.  Prove me wrong Asus.
